A really good exercise that I do for my inner thighs is to lie on your side. Bend your top leg up to your chest or so that your foot is flat on the floor in front of your thigh or so (whichever is comfortable). Then raise your bottom leg a few inches off the floor. Raise and lower slowly. You should feel the burn. You can also raise and make a couple of circles with your leg before you lower. Do front circles and backward.
For love handles and obliques, I love this one. I lay on my side and prop myself up on my elbow with legs straight out. Lift your hips off the ground so that your body is in a fluid line. Lower and repeat. If you want to get more of the back/love handle area, turn your torso so that your top hip is going back a little when you raise.
As MUCH as I **** this things: left lifts (laying flat on your back and sticking your legs straight out in the air and lifting them up off the floor repeatedly.) About 4 sets of 10. Crunches but alternate reaching your elbow to point over the opposite side of your chest like your sparring with a boxing mate and your dodging their punches (if that makes ANY sense lol )
Also running will help to burn fat from the thighs. A good 15 minute run is a nice start then you can bump it up to 30. 30 is probably best, but 15 is good to begin with if this is just your beginning run. 15 minutes maybe 3 days a week to start and alternate with 2 days of strength training with some 10-15lb free weights and do some leg lunges and squats.
If you don’t like running (I **** it!) You can opt on walking 30 minutes-1 hr a day. An hour is the best for walking, but again, if your just starting out 30 minutes can be your starting point. My doc says I can walk an hour a day an lose 20-30lbs cutting out any excessive junk foods and improper eating habits of course. Also, biking and jogging! That’s definitely a great way to work on those thighs if you prefer something other than running
So if you have a pretty good diet, you could probably start with any of these and in about a month or two depending on how much you have to tone, you should see some improvement. I **** hate **** working out. My husband is a sergeant… he is my workout partner….it’s exhausting!!!!! But he’s on the money when it comes to things that work.
Couple of things: first off, leg lifts are bad for your lower back and don’t work the oblique abs- they work the lower abs. Alisyn’s exercise is very good- I’ve used it myself, but now I do inclined torso twists. While in roughly a 45% incline (like your halfway up in a situp) hold a weighted ball and twist your torso side to side.
For inner thighs- if your at a gym- use a hip abductor machine. Targets inner thighs. Also squats are very good for the entire thigh muscle groups
